It was hard coming to work today. I know, I know. It’s Monday and most people don’t look forward to going to work on Monday, but it’s especially difficult when you’ve had a good weekend.
I didn’t go to work on Friday and the kids only had a half day at school. CC and I had the morning alone to relax … which we VERY RARELY get … and then the kids came home at noon and it began to snow.
We ended up getting about 8 or 10 inches of perfect, fluffy snow and the kids couldn’t wait to go out and play on Saturday morning. We all – as a family – had a blast!!! We had so much of a blast that after 3 hours, we came inside, changed out of the gear that was now wet and cold and ventured back out for another hour of play.
We went back for seconds (or is that thirds?) on Sunday. Well, 3 of us did. By Sunday, CC was wiped out. He gets a pass though because on top of playing he also had to do the work of shoveling. The kids and I just played 🙂
There is no way to adequately articulate the laughter and the togetherness and the not thinking about anything but having fun with each other so here are a ton of pictures that will hopefully give you a better idea than mere words can.
p.s. I can’t believe I’m saying this … *wait for it* … For the first time in my life I am hoping that it snows again soon.
Who says buckets and shovels are only for sand play.
First you try to pull your brother … then you get tired and pass out in the snow … then you get on and Mummy pulls you both.
Big brother makes a snow angel, then little brother, who is paying attention to what big brother is doing, imitates.
Gotta take a tumble or 2 for the fun to be complete.
PSA to Ace – If you stand in the way of an oncoming sledder, you will get knocked over.
Since it’s not clear from the picture, I’ll let you in on a little secret – CC was ON the sled when they took off at the top.
Why build a snow man when you can build an igloo? (Jay’s idea) I believe his exact words were “I is for igloo“.
Snow Ball Fight Time!!!
Do you see that giant snow ball heading for my baby?
There was lots of play wrestling and pushing but this was a bonafide hug.
